Years
ago a little orphan girl lived with her grandmother in an upstairs
apartment. One night a fire broke out, the grandmother perished and the girl was trapped. All below could hear her cries
from the window when suddenly a
man appeared with a ladder. He disappeared into the window and moments
later whisked the tiny orphan to safety.
A few months later the precious girl appeared before a judge to be placed
in foster care. First, a schoolteacher pointed out she would be the best
caretaker. Then a farmer promised a wholesome environment. A rich woman
came and promised to provide the finest. As the judge prepared his
decision, a poor man began down the aisle of the quiet courtroom. He
paused behind the girl and opened his arms. The crowd gasped as he
revealed his badly scarred arms.
With a bound and a grin the little orphan leaped into his arms, "This
is the man who saved me!" she cried, clutching him as hard as she did
the day she was saved.
The judge's gavel came down. "I think I've just made my
decision," he said with a smile, and court was adjourned.
Jesus Christ rescued us by giving his life on a cross to save us from sin and Hell.
Without this sacrifice we would have to pay for our own sins--an
impossible task. I wonder...how can we do anything but give ourselves to
Him?
The Bible says, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only
begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have
everlasting life" (John 3:16). Do you know Him? We'd be glad to
tell you more about Jesus Christ,
the Lord and
Savior of the world.
BIO: Dave completed college at Maranatha Baptist Bible College in Watertown,
WI, in 1983, then earned a master's at Northland Baptist Bible
College in Dunbar, WI in 1996. He's been an assistant pastor at Faith Baptist
in Canoga Park, CA
(1985-1990), and at Bay City Baptist (1990-present).

God has given us
a golden opportunity in this life, to know Him. Because God already knows
us personally, knowing and believing God through the Bible forms the basis
of a personal relationship with him. This relationship, available through
Jesus Christ, not only makes us full and joyful people in this life, but
ensures eternal life in heaven for us when our bodies finally give out.
We will never be better than when we submit ourselves to what God has for
us. We believe that by following what God has recorded for us in the
Bible, we can accomplish God's purposes which are hand-in-glove with our
best. Bay City is not a place with perfect people, but we pray that at Bay
City, people are willing to be honest with themselves and the scriptures,
to strive to know and obey God more every day. Come visit us! Having a
personal relationship with God is an opportunity too good to miss. BIO:
