On the Road As I write this, we are en route to New York City! We pulled out of the church parking lot at 5:10 a.m. and made decent time through the early morning darkness. Everyone was excited to get on the road, but by the time we hit Milwaukee, some had decided that sleeping would be the best way to pass the time. (See Luke Zepnick at right.) Our first stop was near the Indiana-Ohio
state line, where we passed out our lunch o We passed
the time with games, lots of talking, a matinee-showing of "Monsters,
Inc." and even pondered some deep questions. (See Josh Clermont,
left.) The Bender and Effert kids found room to build a blanket fort
in the back corner seats and hid from
the mayhem of 52 people o
We were able to post this
report via a wireless Internet
connection from the Pennsylvania Turnpike (before the laptop batteries
ran out). We'll update this page on Friday morning, and watch for our
nightly updates by 9 p.m. Keep praying for us while we're serving God in NYC.

sandwiches and chips (see Tim Effert, at right, passing out yogurts). By 7
p.m. we were in western Pennsylvania, eating cold fried chicken for
dinner. Thanks to everyone who helped supply our meals -- they were much
appreciated!

56-seat bus. 
The
long drive and the tight (but very comfy!)
quarters didn't ruin spirits, though. Check out the smiles on Kayla
Alberts, left; Tyler Rehn and Ben Fleming, right; and Daisy Sutrick and
Mandy Dunford, left. 
Still,
we admit we were pleased as the miles wore away and New York City drew
closer.
