Washington Island is at the tip of Door County, about a two-hour drive from Green Bay. From Green Bay, travel north on Highway 57 to Sturgeon Bay. After Sturgeon Bay, take Highway 42 all the way to Northport. Highway 42 ends at the dock for the ferry to Washington Island. Usually a bus from the Washington Island school picks us up at the ferry dock and brings us to the field or gym.
The ferry goes to the Island on the hour beginning at 8:00 a.m. and ending at 6:00 p.m. each day. As of 2004, the round-trip cost is $18 per vehicle, $8 per adult, $4 per child ages 6-11. Children under age six are free. Call (920) 847-2546 for more information about the ferry.
